SCC Names Luftman as Announcer
Tony Luftman, a fifth-year history major at UCLA, will be the play-by-play announcer for Southern California College men’s basketball games this season. The games can be heard on Broadcast.Com, one of the Internet’s top 20 web sites.
Luftman was invited to broadcast the games by current SCC men’s Coach Cameron Dollar, who played at UCLA when Luftman was the team manager. It is the first time in the school’s 78-year history the games will be broadcast.
The halftime guest at Friday night’s SCC-Bethany College game will be former UCLA coach John Wooden, who befriended Luftman at UCLA. The game, the first round of The Master’s College Fall Classic, will tip off about 9. It is the second game of a doubleheader.
Twenty-two of the team’s 32 games will be broadcast. They can be heard by going to www.vanguard.edu and clicking on the Broadcast.Com link.
