Headed Where the Action Is
LORENZO LAMAS, who stars as ex-Navy SEAL and CIA agent Rio Arnett on the new action-adventure series “Air America,” and his wife, actress-model SHAUNA SAND-LAMAS, have put their Los Feliz home on the market at $2.5 million.
The couple want to move closer to Ventura, where he films his syndicated series. Lamas, 40, previously starred as a motorcycle-riding fugitive in the syndicated TV series “Renegade” (1992-1997), and he played Lance on the CBS series “Falcon Crest” (1981-1990).
Shauna Sand-Lamas was a Playboy playmate in May 1996, and the next month the couple were married in the upstate New York home of Lamas’ mother, actress Arlene Dahl, and his stepfather, fragrance designer Marc Rosen. His father is the late actor Fernando Lamas.
The newlyweds bought the Los Feliz home in May 1996.
Built in 1922 and recently renovated, the Mediterranean-style 4,300-square-foot home has four bedrooms and maid’s quarters plus a guest house, black-bottom pool and spa. There is a weight room in the four-car garage. The estate is on an acre, behind gates, with city views.

BEN STEIN, host of Comedy Central’s Emmy-nominated game show “Win Ben Stein’s Money,” has purchased a Beverly Hills home for just under its $2-million asking price.
Stein, an actor popular among Generation Xers, has played a glum teacher often on TV and in more than a dozen movies, starting with “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” (1986). He is said to be updating the house while working to keep its integrity. The Spanish-style house was built in 1929 and has three bedrooms and maid’s quarters in about 4,000 square feet.
Stein owns several homes in the Los Angeles area. He plans to live in this one after he has completed its refurbishing.

Real estate mogul FRED SANDS and his fiancee, CARLA HERD, have leased a $3.5-million Wilshire penthouse at $30,000 a month for a year. Sands also listed his contemporary Bel-Air home at about $1.9 million. Herd, a chiropractor and nutritionist, is a former actress.
The penthouse is owned by Hamburger Hamlet founders Harry and Marilyn Lewis, who now own the restaurants the Gardens on Glendon in Westwood and Kate Mantilini in Beverly Hills.
Sands was represented in his lease by Murray Weisberg of the Sands Brentwood office. Joe Babajian and Kyle Grasso of Sands’ Beverly Hills office have the listing on Sands’ house.

SHADOE STEVENS, the announcer on “Hollywood Squares” who played Kenny Becket on the CBS sitcom “Dave’s World” for three years, and his wife, Beverly, have listed their canyon home at $2.25 million.
The couple want to move to a larger home with an art studio in the flats of Beverly Hills, where there are sidewalks for their children. They have lived in their current residence for seven years.
Built in 1951 and later updated, the country English-style house with skylights is on about 1.2 acres. The house has five bedrooms in about 4,500 square feet, with a blue mosaic pool, a lighted tennis court and a playhouse.

Movie producer ARNON MILCHAN, who heads Regency Enterprises, has sold his former Malibu home for $4 million plus.
Milchan, 53, produced “City of Angels” and “Dangerous Beauty” this year and “L.A. Confidential” and “Devil’s Advocate” last year. He also produced “The Mirror Has Two Faces” (1996), “The Client” (1994), “Under Siege” (1992) and “Pretty Woman” (1990).
Built about 20 years ago but recently remodeled, the 4,000-square-foot home he sold has two bedrooms plus maid’s quarters and a two-bedroom guest house. Earlier this year, Milchan bought a five-bedroom 4,500-square-foot Malibu house with a pool on the beach for $7.25 million.
Jim Rapf of Pritchett-Rapf & Associates, Malibu, represented the buyer of Milchan’s former home. The buyer is a TV executive who had been leasing the house.

Writer-director JOHN LAFIA, best known for co-creating the “Child’s Play” series of horror films featuring “Chucky” the homicidal doll, and his wife, illustrator and costume designer BEVERLY HONG, have listed their Los Feliz home at $825,000.
Lafia is working on an episode of “Tales From the Crypt.” The couple have owned their home since 1992.
The house, built on a promontory in the late 1930s, has four bedrooms in about 3,500 square feet plus a city view, wood-paneled den and breakfast room. The house also has a formal dining room, office, playroom or workout area and three fireplaces.
