* South State College Boulevard: A report of a robbery with a gun Nov. 8 at 2:46 p.m. in the 1200 block.

* South Stinson Street: A report of an assault with a deadly weapon Nov. 8 at 5:09 p.m. in the 100 block.

* Brea Mall: A thief fled from Merksamer Jewelers with a diamond and white gold ring valued at $1,600 at 3:35 p.m. Nov. 8.

* Brea Mall: A thief stole a customer’s purse at Impostors store at 3 p.m. Nov. 8.

BUENA PARK

* Orangethorpe Avenue: A thief stole a cellular phone from a parked car at 3:24 p.m. Wednesday in the 7000 block.

COSTA MESA

* Newport Boulevard: Police on Thursday investigated the theft of a set of tools worth $12,000 from a business in the 2000 block.

* Sturgeon Drive: The theft of a compact disc player worth $110 from a car in the 500 block was reported Thursday.

CYPRESS

* Valley View Street: A $300 Motorolla digital cellular phone was reported stolen Nov. 9 at 2:18 p.m. in the 10000 block.

* Bishop Street: Two people were reported trespassing into a vacant and locked property Nov. 9 at 11:02 p.m. in the 4900 block.

* Harbor Boulevard: A 23-year-old Santa Ana man was cited for defecating in public Nov. 9 at 12:16 a.m.

* South Lemon Street: Vandalism was reported Nov. 9 at 1:20 p.m. in the 1000 block.

* Picadilly Way at Buckingham Street: A 10-wheel bobtail truck was reported stolen from a Park-and-Ride lot Nov. 9 at 2:35 p.m.

GARDEN GROVE

* Euclid Street: A teenager was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon when police caught him carrying a knife Nov. 12 in the 11000 block. Police subdued him by shooting a shotgun loaded with beanbag pellets at his leg.

HUNTINGTON BEACH

* Edinger Avenue: Two men robbed a fast-food restaurant in the 7900 block about 8:25 p.m. Thursday. One told the cashier he had a gun, and the pair fled on foot with the money.

IRVINE

* Racine Drive: Someone used a rock to break a van’s window, then stole a Walkman and a purse, at 6:11 a.m. Nov. 11 in the 19000 block.

* West Las Lomas Drive: Shots were heard Nov. 9 at 11:02 p.m. in the 200 block.

LA PALMA

* Walker Street and Marview Drive: A woman reported that a piece of fruit either fell or was thrown at her vehicle at 3:18 p.m. Wednesday. An orange was found in the street when officers arrived.

LAGUNA BEACH

* South Coast Highway: Officers stopped a suspicious vehicle about 5 p.m. Thursday near the 1000 block.

* Cambridge Avenue: A report of juveniles in a gray Nissan Sentra doing burnouts in the street at 4:02 p.m. Wednesday in the 7000 block.
