SMTEK International Appoints Vice President

SMTEK International in Thousand Oaks, formerly DDL Electronics, has appointed George R. Weatherford to the post of corporate vice president of operations.

CEO Greg Horton said Weatherford will be involved in streamlining the company’s domestic and international operations, developing potential new acquisitions and managing their integration into the corporate structure, enhancing customer service and coordinating various aspects of the overall marketing effort.

“His first priority will be instilling a ‘lean-thinking’ mentality throughout the company while at the same time stressing our commitment to total customer satisfaction based on quality service and on-time delivery performance at all our locations,” Horton said.

Weatherford has been managing director for 18 months of the company’s Irlandus Circuits Ltd. operation in Northern Ireland.

SMTEK provides customized electronics manufacturing services to original equipment manufacturers in the computer, telecommunications, instrumentation, medical, industrial and aerospace industries.
