From Times Wire Reports

Three police officers already accused in the alleged torture of a Haitian immigrant in the bathroom of a station house were indicted in New York City on charges they plotted a cover-up. Officers Thomas Bruder, Charles Schwarz and Thomas Wiese allegedly lied to investigators to protect Schwarz, according to a new indictment. The new charges came three days after authorities unsealed court papers in which Bruder and Wiese were quoted as singling out a fourth officer, Justin Volpe, as the instigator. Bruder’s attorney, Stuart London, denied the charges. A federal grand jury originally indicted the four officers in February on charges they violated Abner Louima’s civil rights. Louima was allegedly beaten after being arrested.
