Girlfriend of Suspect in Apartment Blast Held
ALHAMBRA —
The girlfriend of a man accused of igniting an explosion that destroyed an Alhambra apartment building was arrested at her boyfriend’s arraignment hearing Thursday, authorities said.
Darlene Nevarez is charged with two counts of recklessly lighting a fire and is being held on a $35,000 bond.
Her boyfriend, Kermit John Kyle, is charged with arson and is being held on $350,000 bond, Deputy Mike Digby said.
Witnesses saw the couple enter the building shortly before the explosion on Sunday.
