Bruins Look for Right Mix

Share

The Bruins, who got a few days off after beating Santa Clara in their opener, return to practice with plenty of work ahead. They need to find reliable combinations from a young roster.

“It’s like our first time playing together,” freshman JaRon Rush said. “We need to get into a comfort zone.”

Eight players played a significant number of minutes as Coach Steve Lavin constantly mixed and matched last Thursday night. Expect more of the same in coming weeks.

“We’re still at a point in the season when we have to evaluate, look at different lineups, see which lineups have the best chemistry,” Lavin said. “It’s going to take some time for this team to gel and find itself in terms of an identity.”

None of his players should get too comfortable on the bench. Lavin told them: “Game by game, it’s going to change. You’ve got to be ready to play.”
