Prolong Buys Pro-Long

Prolong International Corp. said Monday that it has completed its purchase of EPL Pro-Long Inc., which held the patents for the technology employed in the Prolong Super Lubricants brand of engine lubricants and additives.

Irvine-based Prolong International issued nearly 3 million shares of stock to pay for the acquisition. Previously, the company had licensed use of the technology from EPL Pro-Long.

Shares of Prolong International closed Monday at $1.63, down 31 cents, in American Stock Exchange trading.
