Camarillo’s Vitesse Semiconductor Opens Subsidiary in Japan

Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. in Camarillo has opened its Japanese subsidiary, Vitesse Semiconductor Japan Corp.

The Tokyo office is being managed by Yuzo Tsukui, Pacific Rim sales manager and representative director of Vitesse Semiconductor Japan. The site will house a design center staffed by Vitesse field application engineers, who will work closely with companies to include the latest technology in new products.

“Growth of the high-speed communications markets in this region has prompted us to further develop our Pacific Rim sales and distribution organizations,” said Neil Rappaport, Vitesse’s vice president of sales. “After 10-plus years of market development, the time is right for Vitesse to make permanent our presence in the Pacific Rim.”

Tsukui was hired to establish the sales office and design center in Japan, with responsibility for marketing Vitesse products throughout the Pacific Rim. Before joining Vitesse, Tsukui was regional sales manager at AMD Japan Ltd.

Vitesse Semiconductor designs and manufactures communications and automatic-test equipment integrated circuits.
