Davis a Bit Slow but Not Timid

Share

Baron Davis put on a blue practice jersey and scrimmaged Monday afternoon.

The sophomore point guard, who had off-season knee surgery, was cleared to return by UCLA doctors late last week. He wore a thick brace on his left leg and looked a little slow, but that didn’t stop him from driving hard to the basket, banging off Bruin center Dan Gadzuric.

Nor did he appear hesitant directing the half-court offense or stretching to make a steal on defense.

Davis is the leading returning scorer and rebounder for the No. 11 Bruins. No timetable has been set for his first game, but he is scheduled to accompany the team when it leaves today for three games at the Puerto Rico Shootout, which begins Thursday.
