* Tender Loving Care Home Hospice, which cares for terminally ill patients, is looking for volunteers throughout the San Fernando and Conejo valleys. Duties include assisting and comforting families through home visits, writing letters, reading and running household errands. Interested individuals can take part in a training program designed to provide volunteers with a comprehensive knowledge of hospice.

* The Volunteer Center Assistance League of Southern California is seeking volunteers interested in providing assistance to victims of rape and domestic violence. Extensive training will be provided. * The Organization for the Needs of the Elderly is seeking cheerful volunteers to assist in a variety of programs for seniors and young children. Volunteer opportunities include assisting senior citizens, child care, arts and crafts, delivering meals to homebound seniors, serving lunch and clerical support.

Volunteers are also needed to assist in the organization’s Sunday morning farmers’ market. Duties include helping the farmers with sales, passing out samples and setting up individual stalls and booths. For more information, call Carol Danziger, director of volunteers, at (818) 705-2345.

* The Valley Women’s Center Inc., which helps primarily low-income women who have problems with violence, alcohol, drugs and other issues, needs volunteers to assist with clerical duties. * The Volunteer Center Assistance League of Southern California is seeking volunteers to help at a special event that will benefit AIDS victims. On Dec. 5-11, an organization that takes meals to homebound people with AIDS will sponsor a fund-raiser for its activities.
