A Sauvignon Blanc with real varietal character for $6 a bottle? This example from the small Spanish white wine appellation southwest of Ribera del Duero in the Castile-Leon region has no competition at this price level. It even smells flinty and grassy like a classic Sauvignon Blanc. It’s crisp and not too sweet, with a good core of acidity and a pleasant finish. For Sauvignon Blanc fans, it’s almost too good to be true.
