MetroLink’s Fleet

It was with a great deal of dismay that I read the Oct. 4 article regarding MetroLink, specifically naming Pro-Guard as having received an “excessive” contract for providing “reports on how the organization uses its automobiles.” MetroLink has contracted with Pro-Guard to completely manage its entire fleet, including some on-rail vehicles. The reports are only a small part of the services we provide.

We have issued fuel cards for 130 drivers. We actually advance the funds on behalf of MetroLink and then bill the agency for reimbursement. Our toll-free number is used very frequently by their staff and drivers needing assistance on all aspects of their fleet. We also provide full maintenance and repairs on these vehicles. Even though it’s not part of our contract, we have also helped MetroLink dispose of some of its excess inventory of vehicles at no profit. These and many other services are provided at our cost.
