Ohio State linebacker Chris Kirk, who was found to be academically ineligible, has been reinstated after the Big Ten Conference upheld his appeal.

Kirk learned just days before the season opener against West Virginia that he was ineligible because he had switched majors. The Big Ten, with no new information and no changes in Kirk’s academic transcript, ruled in Kirk’s favor this week.

With Brock Huard sidelined for two to three weeks because of a separated shoulder, Marques Tuiasosopo will be Washington’s starting quarterback against Utah State on Saturday. The talented sophomore, son of former NFL defensive lineman Manu Tuiasosopo, almost led the Huskies to a win over Arizona last week after Huard was injured in the first half of a 31-28 loss.
