Residents, Police to Help Clean Up Area

Share

Residents who want to help rid Reseda of graffiti and litter can join the Make-a-Difference L.A. project scheduled today from 8 to 11 a.m.

Sponsored by the West Valley Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, the event will focus on a three-block parking area in the Reseda business district on Sherman Way between Etiwanda and Lindley avenues, said LAPD Senior Lead Officer John Erickson.

“This area’s been an eyesore for a long time,” Erickson said. “It’s full of graffiti, weeds and trash.”

Cleanup tools such as paintbrushes and trash bags will be provided, he said, but volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves.

Following the cleanup, volunteers are invited to attend the West Valley Division’s annual Open House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the police station, 19020 Vanowen St. The event will feature SWAT team and bomb squad displays, police and Fire Department vehicles and a recruiting unit.
