ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

QLogic Corp.: The Costa Mesa designer and supplier of semiconductor and board-level input/output products reported net income of $5.2 million, or 57 cents a share, for the second fiscal quarter ended Sept. 27, which included a charge of $1.6 million related to the acquisition of Silicon Design Resources Inc. For the second quarter of the prior fiscal year, the company posted net income of $3 million, or 39 cents a share. Revenue rose 41% to a record $27.7 million from $19.6 million.
