Deputies Seek Identity of Body Found Near Calabasas
Sheriff’s deputies were investigating the death of a man whose body was found Monday just off a rural road in the Santa Monica Mountains south of Calabasas.
The man’s age and identity were not immediately known, said Sgt. David Holm of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“It appears to be an adult male,” he said.
The body--found not far from Mulholland Highway about a mile north of Kanan Road--was discovered by a hiker, according to authorities. Deputies were summoned to the scene at about 11:45 a.m.
It was unknown how long the body had been there or whether foul play was involved in the death, according to authorities. The investigation was being handled by deputies from the Sheriff’s Department’s homicide bureau.
No other details were available.
