Gryphon Making Deals

Moving to build a dental management company, an investor group led by Gryphon Partners L.P. and veteran health care executive Richard K. Matros announced a series of deals Tuesday.

The group said it acquired it acquired Consumer Dental Services Organization, which provides management and administrative services to a network of dental offices in California and Washington. The group also acquired nonmedical assets of Newport Dental and Family Dental Group.

Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

The Newport Beach-based concern, which will take on a new name, Bright Now! Dental, consists of companies that generate annual revenue of about $60 million through 50 dental offices in California, Oregon and Washington.

Matros, chief executive of Bright Now, previously headed Regency Health Services Inc., a Tustin-based operator of nursing homes that was acquired last year by Sun Healthcare Group in New Mexico. Gryphon Partners is a San Francisco-based private equity investment firm.
