Rockwell Names Board for Pending Spinoff

Rockwell International Corp., preparing to spin off its semiconductor systems business as an independent company, named the first five people for the new firm’s board of directors. Dwight W. Decker, current president of Rockwell Semiconductor Systems, will become chairman of the board and chief executive of the as-yet-unnamed company, which will be based in Newport Beach. Other board members will be Donald R. Beall, former Rockwell chairman and chief executive and currently a board member; Richard M. Bressler, a Rockwell director who is a member of its audit and compensation committees; Jerre L. Stead, chairman and CEO of Ingram Micro; and F. Craig Farrill, corporate vice president and strategic technology officer for AirTouch Communications. After the new company is created, Bressler will resign from Rockwell’s board, company officials said.
