Los Angeles City Councilman Joel Wachs announced the renewal of a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the July 11, 1995, murder of Jyotsna Prajapati.

Prajapati, a 29-year-old native of India, was shot in the head as she tried to stop two men from stealing a 12-pack of beer from the grocery store she owned with her husband, Kamlesh.

Her daughter, Atithi, now 6, was asleep behind the counter at the time of the murder.

At a Thursday morning news conference in front of the Prajapatis’ store, Top Produce Market, Kamlesh Prajapati asked for anyone with information about his wife’s murder to come forward.
