A sex-oriented Internet company was ordered by a federal judge Friday to immediately remove from its Web site a dozen nude photos reportedly taken more than 20 years ago of Dr. Laura Schlessinger, the syndicated radio personality.

U.S. District Judge Dean D. Pregerson in Los Angeles issued a temporary restraining order against Seattle-based Internet Entertainment Group, which bills itself as the leading provider of adult content on the Internet.

Also named in the order was Bill Ballance, a longtime California radio show host who allegedly provided the photos to the Internet company.

Ballance says he took the photos and that Schlessinger willingly posed for them, according to a press release issued by the company.

Schlessinger’s attorney, Fred Fenster, said he understood the photos were posted about 10 p.m. Thursday.

In court papers filed Friday morning, her lawyers said the Web site posting violated her right to privacy and publicity, and constituted copyright infringement.

Pregerson set a hearing for Nov. 2 to consider granting a preliminary injunction.
