Yard Sale to Follow Townwide Cleanup
Piru residents are cleaning up and selling out this weekend.
A town cleanup from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today will be followed by a community yard sale and flea market from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Dumpsters will be set up in the community’s downtown today for disposal of old appliances, yard waste, unwanted furniture and garbage.
Only tires, paint, oil, batteries and other hazardous waste cannot be accepted.
The nonprofit Habitat for Humanity is donating paint for volunteers to obliterate graffiti throughout town.
The yard sale will be held under the olive trees in the town square Sunday, and residents may set up their own tables to hawk unwanted odds and ends or trade their trash for someone else’s treasure.
Free dessert and beverages will be furnished by the Piru Neighborhood Council. Danny Torres’ Piru River Band will provide musical accompaniment from 2 to 5 p.m.
