ARV Assisted Living Gets Chief Financial Officer, Operations Head
* Victor C. Streufert has been appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer of ARV Assisted Living Inc. in Costa Mesa. He joined the company from National Telephone & Communications Inc., where he has served as senior vice president and chief financial officer since 1996. Before that, Streufert was chief financial officer at Pyxis Corp. in San Diego and at Denver-based American Health Properties Inc. Peter B. Morin has been appointed vice president of operations. He previously worked for ARV in 1988, when he served as interim chief financial officer before leaving to pursue his MBA. After graduation, Morin co-founded Adopt-A-Highway Maintenance Corp., a marketing services organization which designs, promotes and implements highway advertising programs, and served as president over the past eight years.
* Paul Hyman has joined Abbott Resource Group Inc. in Irvine as vice president of corporate development. He was previously regional director of Barrett Business Services Inc. and senior vice president of Your Staff Inc.
* Carl D. Gellis has been named to the newly created position of national sales manager for MicroSensors Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Irvine Sensors Corp. in Costa Mesa. Gellis has more than 25 years’ experience in executive marketing and sales management for National Semiconductor Corp.
* Dan Lawrence has been selected to head the marketing and stock promotional activities for Action Sports Ltd. in Irvine. Lawrence’s Wall Street affiliations have been with Shearson, Lehman, Hutton and he has served as a vice president of investments with Sutro & Co., Prudential Securities, and Dean, Witter, Reynolds Inc.
* Donald J. Howard has been named senior vice president of development for Marketplace Properties in Tustin, a developer of neighborhood shopping centers and specialty retail projects in Southern California. Howard was senior vice president of development for Donahue Schriber, where he managed the retail shopping center division.
* Noal Hebert has been appointed firm administrator for Haskell & White LLP, a Newport Beach-based accounting and business advisory services firm. She had been director of marketing for the accounting firm of Bauch, Firestone, Carmody & Ciolf.
* Paul Scribner has been appointed senior vice president of sales and marketing for Atlus Dream Entertainment in Irvine, a provider of photo sticker machines. He was president of Scribner Enterprises and served as a consultant to several corporations in the games and vending industries.
* Curtis W. Smith has been named vice president, corporate controller for MBK Real Estate Ltd. in Irvine. He had been corporate controller. Before joining the company eight years ago, Smith was with the accounting firm of Kenneth Leventhal & Co. in Newport Beach.
* Jeff Uttz has been named director, acting controller for CKE Restaurants Inc. in Anaheim. He is responsible for all accounting-related issues for Carl’s Jr. restaurants as well as the parent company. Before joining CKE as manager of corporate banking in 1997, Uttz was with KPMG Peat Marwick for five years.
* Claire McMahon has joined Rieches Baird Advertising in Irvine as public relations account coordinator. She previously worked for the Orange County Reporter, coordinating advertising and writing on local government.
* Jay Todisco has joined Ware & Malcomb Architects as regional director for the Irvine corporate office. He had been vice president for Lee & Sakahara Architects in Irvine, where he worked for more than 18 years. In addition, David H. Oh has been named project manager. He was formerly a project manager for Ehrlich Rominger.
* Frederick C. Meyer and Sanford Feld have been added to the board of directors of Newport Beach-based CEC Properties Inc., which manages golf courses and construction of golf facilities. Meyer is president and chief executive of Southern California Healthcare Systems, which he co-founded in 1992. Feld is president of Leafland Associates Inc., which is engaged in the syndication, development, management, acquisition and financing of multifamily, commercial and industrial real estate.
* Walter M. Reeves has been appointed vice president and director of national accounts for First American Title Insurance Co. in Santa Ana. He had been senior underwriter for national accounts. In addition, Jeff Dahlen has been named vice president-national underwriter/timeshares. Dahlen, who joined the company in 1985, had been chief title officer in the Riverside office.
