Police Chief to Speak on ‘Youth at Risk’ at Forum

Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard Parks will lead a community forum on “Youth at Risk,” Wednesday at Chaminade High School.

The discussion will address the challenges confronting young people, including drugs, gangs and crime. Parks will also talk about the role of the LAPD in improving the safety of youth at school and home. The event is sponsored by Pacific Lodge Youth Service.

The event is for parents, community members and teens in the San Fernando Valley. The audience will be able to submit written questions, which Parks will answer after his talk.

Pacific Lodge is working with Chaminade High School to encourage the participation of local students. The group has sponsored five other Youth at Risk events in the last three years.

A private, nonprofit Woodland Hills organization in its 75th year, Pacific Lodge offers prevention, intervention and counseling services for troubled children and teens.
