Ice Skating Program to Begin Next Month

The Alliance for the Arts plans to sponsor Winter Wonderland on Ice, a public skating program set to run from Thanksgiving week through the New Year’s holiday at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.

A 40-by-60-foot ice rink will be erected next to the Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd., for special events and public skating.

Opening night will be Nov. 29, with an appearance by Olympic silver medalist Peter Carruthers.

During the program, Carruthers’ ice skating school will offer lessons for a fee at 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Class size will be limited to beginner and intermediate students.
