$80,000 Grant Funds Pupil Health Network

The Irvine Public Schools Foundation has received an $80,000 grant from the Irvine Health Foundation to start a state-of-the-art health information network.
The computer-based system will allow school officials to record, retrieve and store student health data. The system will also allow officials to maintain critical health information and records more efficiently and confidentially.
In 1997, the Irvine Health Foundation awarded the Irvine Public Schools Foundation a $25,000 planning grant to assist with the project’s design. The new grant will provide funding for computers, software, design engineering, training and data input for the first phase of six middle schools, serving about 3,500 students.
