Severance Charges, Sales Dip Mean $756,000 Loss at Datum

Datum Inc., an Irvine manufacturer of time and frequency products, reported a third-quarter net loss of $756,000, or 14 cents a share, which included $400,000 in pretax severance charges. For the year-earlier period, the company earned $1.6 million, or 28 cents a share. Sales declined 15% to $25.8 million from $30.2 million.
