AML Communications Gets Wireless System Order

Share

AML Communications Inc. in Camarillo has received a $330,000 order for wireless amplifier systems from a major European supplier, with an option for an additional order of up to $230,000.

Shipments to the European company--whose name was not disclosed by AML--are expected to begin by the end of the year.

“This order represents an opportunity to expand the company’s participation in the emerging wireless local loop market,” said Jacob Inbar, chairman and chief executive. “It also highlights the ongoing success of AML’s strategic commitment to aggressively pursue the development of products for wireless local loop deployment.”

Inbar said wireless telephone systems are increasingly being adopted in developing markets to quickly implement telephone communications services. Wireless telephone systems, an alternative to copper and fiber-optic cable-based systems, often are cheaper to implement than wired telephone systems, Inbar said.

AML designs and manufactures amplifiers for the cellular, paging and satellite communication markets.
