Year-Round School to Hold Fund-Raiser

Students at a year-round elementary school in Ventura will participate in a jog-a-thon this week to raise money for new playground equipment, campus assemblies, field trips and physical education programs.
The jog-a-thon will start at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Mound Elementary School, 455 S. Hill Road. The theme of the event is “Mound’s Magical Jog-A-Thon,” said Charlotte James, the event’s chairwoman.
In addition to jogging, there will be field events such as limbo, rabbit jumping and hat tossing.
