Fund Established for Family of Slain Girl

A fund has been set up for the family of 9-year-old Crystal Garcia, who was killed Saturday morning when a gunman fired through the screen door of her apartment while she was sleeping.
The gunman was apparently angry at the victim’s father, who had complained that he and his friends were making too much noise playing cards outside, witnesses said.
Garcia’s half sister, Janet, also was shot and was last reported in stable condition at a hospital.
Contributions to the family may be sent in Crystal’s name to Denise Johnson, manager of the Family Savings Bank, 1902 W. Rosecrans Ave., Compton, 90220.
