Cash Protest

* Re “Protest Follows Accused Accomplice,” Aug. 27: When the folks are done up at Berkeley protesting the mere presence of David Cash [friend of child-murder suspect Jeremy Strohmeyer], they may want to head over to O.J. Simpson’s house for some more demonstrating. Let’s keep our moral indignation consistent.

* In your article, the reporter uses the quote of a misguided student to imply that Cash’s attendance at UC Berkeley is a logical outgrowth of the implementation of Proposition 209. This attempt to somehow link the heinous actions of Cash and the entirely separate right of California voters to enact an initiative ending race-based affirmative action is absurd.
But most astounding is how The Times manages to inject a slap at the “post-affirmative action era” into a story that purportedly focuses on an issue of criminal justice!
