Where summer is endless: night life on Pacific Coast Highway.

Moonshadows is about as close as a restaurant can get to the ocean in Malibu. This beach-side eatery and bar has been serving chicken and steak for more than two decades, and on Saturday and Sunday it serves up live music on the outdoor patio from 2 to 6 p.m. 20356 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu. Malibu Inn Restaurant keeps the Pepperdine set busy with deejayed or live music Tuesday through Sunday. Duke’s Malibu takes its name from Duke Kahanamoku, the first Hawaiian to win the Olympic gold medal for swimming, but the Hawaiian-themed establishment takes its entertainment to Jamaica with the sounds of calypso and reggae Friday nights. 21150 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, (310)-317-0777. Neptune’s Net attracts the biker and beach crowd that wanders in from nearby Leo Carillo State Beach. It’s a laid-back joint with picnic tables, seafood and a great view of the sunset. 42505 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu (Ventura County line). (310) 457-3095. All ages. No cover. Full menu.

The Pitcher House served only Budweiser for more than 40 years, but this well-known neighborhood pub with its wacky memorabilia and billiards now has a full beer menu and even wine and chicken wings. 142 Pacific Coast Highway, Hermosa Beach, (310) 374-0626. 21 and over. No cover. Bar menu.
