From Times Wire Reports

Hurricane Isis slammed into the Mexican mainland with 75-mph winds but rapidly dissipated into a rainstorm heading for the southwest Texas border. The storm blasted out windows, knocked out electricity and littered the coastal city of Los Mochis with downed light posts and tree limbs. The coastal highway in the southern part of Sinaloa state was cut, authorities said. Some rivers rose dangerously high. At least two people were killed after Isis clipped the tip of the Baja California peninsula, and one Isis-related drowning was reported in Sinaloa.
