Rigamat Helps UC Irvine Beat Oregon State

Stephanie Rigamat scored two goals to lead UC Irvine to a 5-1 victory over Oregon State Saturday night in the Fila Women’s Soccer Classic at Cal State Fullerton.

Simone Ferrara, Nicole Bucciarelli and Allison Marra also scored to help the Anteaters improve to 2-0.

Lindy Brown scored for Oregon State (0-1).

In another Fila Classic game:

CS Fullerton 5, Oral Roberts 0--Oral Roberts had no shots on goal as the Titans’ Alicia Davis recorded her first shutout of the season.

In nonconference men’s soccer:

UC Irvine 2, Gonzaga 0--Patrick Lee scored the first goal of the game, his second of the year, and Mike Margeson scored the final goal for the Anteaters. Sophomore Walter Camargo assisted on both goals for the Anteaters (2-0).

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Chapman 2, St. Thomas (Minn.) 1--Freshman Katie Lopez curled a 22-yard shot into the top left corner of the goal with two minutes left in sudden death for Chapman (1-0). Kristle Hoback scored the other goal for the Panthers.

In the Cal State Fullerton Cross-Country Invitational:

Fullerton, Concordia tie--The Titans and the Eagles each finished with 81 points in the women’s race. Angie Fortner of Nevada Las Vegas won in 17:33. Terry Vega of Fullerton was fifth in 18:34 and Trica Matson finished in 18:53 and in 10th place for Concordia.

In the UC Irvine women’s volleyball tournament:

UC Irvine 3, Toledo 1--Tournament MVP Tandie Wade had 15 kills and 12 digs to lead the Anteaters to a 13-15, 15-3, 15-12, 15-7 victory over Toledo (0-4). In an earlier match, The Anteaters (2-2) were defeated by Portland State, 7-15, 15-5, 4-15, 15-11, 15-13. In women’s volleyball at the Titan Classic:

CS Fullerton 3, Tulsa 2--The Titans captured the inaugural tournament title by winning, 15-11, 10-15, 15-8, 7-15, 15-12. Kahea Smith had 14 kills and Michelle Halliday and Alisa Geddes each added 12 kills for CSF.
