Suspect in ’75 Attack on OPEC Arrested

French police arrested Hans-Joachim Klein, who is wanted in a 1975 attack on the headquarters of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, in a cafe in a Normandy village. Klein, who is German, is believed to be a former accomplice of the terrorist known as “Carlos the Jackal.” Eleven oil ministers were taken hostage in the Vienna attack. German authorities plan to request Klein’s extradition.
