County Tech Firms Honored for Ranking Tops in Growth

Accounting firm Deloitte & Touche LLP honored 50 of the region’s fastest-growing high-tech firms on Thursday, with Orange County businesses grabbing four of the top five awards.

Dubbed the 1998 Orange Coast Technology Fast 50, the annual awards program ranks the revenue growth of tech firms in Orange and San Diego counties. To qualify, companies must have been in business for a minimum of five years and had a net income of at least $50,000 in 1993.

CardioVascular Dynamics Inc. of Irvine was ranked as the fastest-growing company, followed by Telecom Solutions Inc. of Lake Forest in second. Broadcom Corp. in Irvine placed fourth and SRS Labs Inc. in Santa Ana was fifth.

Other Orange County firms honored were ICU Medical of San Clemente; The Automatic Answer of San Juan Capistrano; Systems Management Specialists Inc. of Santa Ana; Productivity Enhancement Products Inc. of Laguna Hills; Engineering/Documentation Systems Inc. of Yorba Linda; I-Flow Corp. of Lake Forest; Kaynar Technologies Inc. of Orange; Quest Software Inc. of Newport Beach; Irvine Sensors Corp. of Costa Mesa; MotorVac Technologies Inc. of Santa Ana; and Irvine-based companies Litronic Industries Inc., Vision Solutions Inc., Pacific Wave Technologies Inc., Powerwave Technologies Inc., The Linksys Group Inc., PairGain Technologies Inc., Continuus Software Corp., STM Wireless Inc., Datum Inc., Relsys International Inc., Wonderware Corp., Western Digital Corp., Meade Instruments Corp. and LeadingWay Corp.
