Anti-Castro Plot

Share

Re the Cuban-American crew indicted for the Castro plot (Sept. 8): Until now, our policy toward Cuba has been to isolate, embargo and sanction. At the same time, we use engagement with China and Vietnam, and claim investment as the best way to effect changes in brutal and undemocratic regimes in Indonesia and Burma. One reason for this inconsistent foreign policy by the U.S. government is the intense political lobbying by some expatriate Cubans willing to foist failed policies on an entire nation to somehow destroy Castro.

Yet while they condemn the Cuban regime, these same groups have also pushed their own agenda by using intimidation, violence and censorship against those with whom they disagree. If they do that in America, what would they do in Cuba?
