Golf Tournament to Benefit Red Cross

Golf enthusiasts will hit the greens Thursday at the Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine for the second Sedgwick Golf Classic Tournament.

Tournament proceeds benefit the Orange County chapter of the American Red Cross.

"For 100 years, the Red Cross has made a real impact on Orange County families, helping to keep them safe, and we are happy to support them through the tournament," said Lee Holmes, senior vice president of Sedgwick of California, an insurance brokerage company.

Participants will begin registering at 9 a.m. at the new course on 11 Strawberry Farms Road, then warm up on the driving range until the tournament starts at noon.

An awards reception follows at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is at 6 p.m., with a silent auction and a drawing for a golf vacation for two in Switzerland.

Ticket prices begin at $250 for an individual, including golf, lunch, hole contests, reception and dinner. The price for a corporate four-member team is $1,500 and includes, in addition, a tee or green sponsor sign and recognition in printed materials.

Other sponsorship opportunities are available. Information: (714) 835-5381, Ext. 248.
