North Carolina lost another player to disciplinary action when starting offensive guard Jon Hall was suspended by Coach Carl Torbush.

The action against the 6-foot-3, 305-pound lineman was taken after he was served with an arrest warrant for allegedly communicating threats and misdemeanor assault against a female student.

Torbush said Hall would not participate in any football-related activities until at least his court date Oct. 2.

In the warrant filed with the Carrboro Police Department on Sept. 3, Katherine Stanley of Chapel Hill, N.C., said Hall grabbed her and pushed her down by putting his hands around her neck.

The warrant also said Hall told Stanley on the telephone that if he had to go to jail over the incident he would “come to her apartment and kill her.”

Last month, Torbush threw defensive line reserves Ricco McCain and Varian Ballard off the team because of a Dec. 5 assault at a local night club.
