750 Evacuated After Bomb Mishap at Base

BOSSIER CITY, La. —
More than 750 homes were evacuated for three hours Thursday after crews accidentally dropped a 500-pound bomb being loaded onto a B-52 bomber at Barksdale Air Force Base, officials said.
The bomb did not go off and was moved to a remote location on the 18,000-acre base for detonation, officials said.
