Farmers Market to Shut Down for a Year

The Brea Farmers Market will close for a year after marking its season finale today with a customer appreciation day, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the city community center.

The market will reopen next fall when its permanent downtown location on Birch Street is completed. Today's activities include ongoing raffles, entertainment, free balloons and a drawing for a VCR.

Shoppers also will be asked about when, in terms of day and time, they want the new and improved Farmers Market to take place next year.

The community center is at 695 E. Madison Way.
