* Re “Pete: A Canyon’s Best Friend,” Sept. 19:

Please do not think that everyone in Silverado Canyon is anti-development.

My husband and I support sensible development in Silverado Canyon. The benefits, including increased real estate values and a boost in restaurant and market revenues, outweigh the bad.

As for potential traffic problems on Silverado Canyon Road, there are traffic and parking problems associated with existing homes used as “boarding houses” in Silverado Canyon.

Canyon locals [should understand that] we could get city sewer and gas out of this deal, along with road improvements! And I know someone will make a home for Pete.
