Food Court Plan Leaves Bad Taste
* When I saw the Sept. 6 headline “Crystal Cathedral to Feed Stomachs as Well as Souls,” I honestly thought Rev. Robert H. Schuller had got religion and was starting a soup kitchen or a program to provide nourishment to the poor and hungry in Orange County.
Silly me.

* I have a real problem with donations for religious purposes being expended on high-priced architects and buildings that have no relation to religion.
The cost of the new food court at the Crystal Cathedral complex could feed many thousands of hungry people in Third World countries.
Are the proceeds from this venture going to enjoy tax-deductible status? If so, go for it, Dr. Schuller. Add a Kmart.
