J.T. Granatelli Lubricants in Camarillo announced it has received official Commonwealth of Independent States government certification for sale of its products in Russia.
Company officials said the government endorsement will help Granatelli products gain acceptance in the marketplace. The product line includes motor oil, motor vehicle lubricants, car care products, multipurpose cleaners and a tire sealant.
News of the certification was followed by an order from Union Construction Enterprises for more than $90,000 in products. Union Construction, headquartered in Kaleningrad, Russia, and Laguna Niguel, was instrumental in the acquisition of the government certificate and has established a distribution network for Granatelli products in Russia, Poland and Belarus.
The nearly two-year certification process cost Union Construction just more than $100,000. In addition, Union Construction spent nearly $200,000 over the past 1 1/2 years to advertise and promote Granatelli products in Russia.
