I was delighted to see “Retiring to the Homes of the Young” (March 29). I live in the new city of Laguna Woods in Leisure World, where the “leisure” is a misnomer, because I have yet to find any leisure in the community. For the more than 18 years that I have lived here, residents from 55 to over 90 are so busy taking emeritus classes here on our own grounds conducted by Saddleback College, and at the college campus, that they barely have time for playing golf, tennis, swimming and all the other hundreds of activities. In addition to the close tie to Saddleback College, many residents take advantage of courses at Irvine College and UC Irvine.

Seniors can teach the young but they can also learn from the young and it makes for a great symbiotic relationship.
