No More Lost Soles

There are few things closer to a woman’s heart than her shoes, and now there’s a magazine that celebrates every last aspect of footwear fetishism.

Shuz was created by Stacy Girard in the fall after she got tired of drooling over fabulous shoes in fashion magazines only to find no price or store information given. “When I see something I love, I want it and I want it now,” says the 29-year-old Girard. “I set out to create a guide that walks readers through styles for the season, with prices and information about where they are available.”

In addition to styles from designers like Isaac, Chanel, Liz Claiborne, Steve Madden, Birkenstock and Sigerson Morrison, the slick “magalog” has original editorial content--designer profiles, happy feet and art columns, new products and shoe trivia.

“The pages of Shuz are a place for women to live out their enthusiasm for something which is more than just an article of clothing,” explains Girard. “Shoes are an expression of personality. Women see them as collectibles that they don’t want to part with. They can represent an investment or a event, like an engagement or a big party.”

The spring issue of Shuz is on newsstands and in bookstores now. In August it will join the e-commerce race, launching a Web site where designer shoes can be ordered online (https://www.shuz.com). “There’s something so seductive about having it all right there at your fingertips,” says Girard.
