Natalie Labourdette, an 11-year-old who fought off an apparent kidnapping attempt and helped police identify the suspect, was honored recently for her bravery. She was waiting with a friend for her mom to pick her up at a bowling alley on March 14 when a man approached and tried to pull her away. She ran outside, but he found her and tried to pull her inside a boiler room, she said. She fought him, breaking free when she elbowed him in the chest. “I really thought that it would probably be, like, my last day,” Natalie said. “He was really, really strong. I thought I was gonna die.” Police caught the man a short time later, and Natalie identified him. She recently received an All-American Hero Award from Mimi’s Cafe, which included a plaque and a free dinner for two.
