LAGUNA NIGUEL

Christina Wong, 16, founded Aliso Niguel High School’s chapter of Junior Statesmen of America just last October. The club has grown to 34 members, and Christina has been tapped to lead a discussion at the Southern California regional JSA convention April 16-18. The group will deliberate such issues as busing, the existence of NATO, minimum wage laws and China’s most-favored-nation status.

Debating items that affect thousands of people has helped Christina clarify her own priorities. “I’ve realized that it’s pointless to argue about little things with your parents,” she says. With the Aliso Niguel chapter of JSA going strong, Christina said she’s eager to start a model United Nations club.
