Lucent to Buy Mosaix

Telecommunications equipment maker Lucent Technologies Inc. has agreed to buy Mosaix Inc., which provides customer service management software, for $145 million in stock. The acquisition will allow Murray Hill, N.J.-based Lucent to move into the fast-growing area of customer relationship management and to expand its lineup of products catering to companies using telephone customer service representatives.
