The City Council recently awarded Southern California Underground Contractors Inc. a contract to build storm drains at 9th Street at Lampson Avenue. Plans and specifications for the project were approved in February. The project includes building a storm drain under 9th Street from Chapman Avenue to Reva Drive, and under Lampson Avenue from Beach Boulevard to Arrowhead Street. The cost of the project is $784,479 and will be financed using Measure M and gas tax funds. Construction is expected to begin May 24 with a completion date of Sept. 24. Information: (714) 741-5180.
